Introduction Founded in Iran in 1961, Golestan began operations by blending, packing and selling teas. Soon, the company grew and extended its services to include producing, blending and packing a wide variety of other types of foodstuffs. In the 1990s, its range of food products included 20 main groups and 300 sub-food items altogether. In the same period, the company scrapped its traditional method of distribution and sales and adopted a new one based on the most up-to-date technologies. In 2000, Golestan began its overseas operations, signing a license agreement with Twinings, a reputable British tea marketer. Since its foundation, Golestan has been dedicated to producing reliable and premium food products. The company has achieved lasting fame, thanks to its meticulous planning and customer-oriented marketing methodologies. Golestan always endeavors to remain a leading brand through meeting its consumers’ needs in the best way possible.      Mohammad Gerami set up a tea business in Tehran, Iran. 1961 Golestan tea was registered as a private joint stock company. 1970 Golestan became the first to use an automatic packaging machine for loose teas in Iran. 1981 Golesatan made tea bags for the first time. 1982 -Golestan launched Pardis brand to produce a wide range of food products for Iranian families. -Golestan launched Golkis brand to blend and sell Iranian teas sourced from Lahijan, Gilan. 1988 Golestan began to process, package and sell pistachios and now it is a leading supplier of packed pistachios in Iran thanks to its well-equipped laboratories, sophisticated machines and skilled workforce. 1994 Golestan quality control laboratories came on stream. 1994 Golestan began to pack and distribute Tarom rice sourced from the best rice fields. 2002 Golestan began to pack and sell premium saffron. 2003 Golestan started to pack and sell a wide variety of spices. 2004 Golestan began blending and selling teas under the brand name of Twinings, an English marketer of tea, based in Andover, Hampshire. 2008   Golestan launched Hati Kara brand to produce extracts, flavors, spices and so forth. 2011 Golestan opened a rice factory in the Iranian province of Mazandaran. The factory was equipped with the most modern machines made in Switzerland, Germany and Italy. 2011 Golestan started packing and selling grains using modern Swiss sorters and cyclones. 2011 Golestan began constructing a large hospital called Mahdi Clinic. 2012 Golestan held its 50-year anniversary celebration. 2013 Golestan began to produce noodles using the most modern and automatic machines made in Japan 2013 Golestan began to sell Blackline teas, a blend of the finest Indian and Kenyan teas. 2014 Golestan became the first food production, packaging and distribution company to use EPR (enterprise resource planning) software, developed by SAP, a German multinational software company. The software allows organizations to manage business operations effectively. 2014 Golestan products were officially recognized as the highest quality products among those of 2000 active companies. 2017 Golestan range of products reached 300 and had more than 2000 employees on the payroll.   Golestan Social activities Golestan has been involved in charity work and some of its charitable activities include but not limited to, the construction of a hospital, a charity and a number of schools and educational centers which are as follows: Mahdi Clinic Golestan is currently constructing a hospital called Mahdi Clinic. The company embarked on the project at the request of late Mohammad Gerami, the company’s founder. The hospital will offer all kinds of medical and health services. Fatemeh Zahra Charity Since the founder of Golestan, late Mohammad Gerami, supported charities, he established a charity in Taft, Yazd, Iran and named it Hazrat-e Fatemeh Zahra. Teaching Children At Golestan, we firmly believe that we can make the future better through raising our children properly. To achieve this significant objective, Golestan has built several schools and educational centers in Iran’s underprivileged areas, including a center in the province of Yazd, called Hazrat-e Seyed Shohada. Golestan Warehouse and Distribution Department The department employs sophisticated distribution fleet and technologies to supply its products to its customers. This is done fast and made possible due to the high warehousing capacity of Golestan as it has numerous warehouses in different parts of the country meaning it can deliver its products to more than 100,000 customers throughout the country with ease.
